Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a separate copy of that query. A message sent to us includes only the information the sender chooses to provide, and we use it to answer that message.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the site and learn which pages are useful. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
How We Use the Data
The limited data above helps operate the service, diagnose faults, measure visits, and improve content. We neither sell visitor lists nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Websites
Links lead to government portals, Santa Clara County and California offices, library collections, and outside search services. Information entered after following a link is controlled by that site's own privacy terms. The same rule applies to sponsored results supplied by an outside company.
Parties That May Process Data
Hosting and support vendors process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers may receive automatically collected information. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, visitor information is not shared.
How Information Is Safeguarded
An encrypted connection serves the site, and server logs are kept only as long as needed for the purposes stated here. Since no accounts are offered, the site holds no visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under Age 18
The service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if a minor submitted such information so it can be removed.
California Privacy Rights
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may provide rights to know, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of personal information, subject to statutory exceptions. Because we retain little data, a request usually involves checking contact messages and server logs. Use the Contact page to submit one. Public records held by Los Altos, Santa Clara County, or California agencies are outside our control, so a correction or redaction request for those files must go to the custodian.
Changes to This Policy
A revised policy will appear on this page. Using the service after an update means accepting the new version.
